What was the coolest software related event that you were a part of this year? I mean either coding a feature, product or an actual event.

Comment by Michael Levin on December 28, 2012 at 6:08pm I'm going to say that learning how to use the Twitter APIs using Python to extract social data was a fascinating experience for me. That was at OSCON, the O'Reilly Open Source Conference in Portland last July. The data mining possibilities are endless with all that data. The changing rules regarding how Twitter allows extraction of data: how much, how frequently, all was fascinating. Considering all the social API's out there to explore is an exciting thing, also. I've been exploring tools that enable and facilitate data extraction, too.
